Shipping and Delivery Information:

General Shipping Information:

Shipping charges are within the continental US. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, APO addresses and PO Boxes must be sent Priority Mail. Puerto Rico is two day UPS air and an additional $22 charge to the regular shipping charges must be added.

A reminder that the day of shipping does not count in transit times and once it leaves our facility we cannot guarantee the date of delivery which vary greatly especially during the holidays. Generally shipping is 2-5 days but at peak holiday times of the year it may be longer and vary greatly. Orders received by 10 AM EST will be shipped or delivered the same day with the exception of weekends and holidays and other peak times as business dictates, which will be the next business day in most cases. If the delivery or shipping is to be for another day, please indicate when ordering.  At peak times of the year due to increased volume orders may take an extra several days to ship, like at Christmas. If the order needs to be sent after the 10 AM cutoff a $10 rush fee may be charged.

Please be sure to check your shipping the name, address, suite numbers, apartments numbers, town, state and zip code, etc. A wrong address delays your gift in getting to the recipient in a timely manner and it might be returned or if delivered a address correction fee of $12.00 will be charged as the shipper charges us. We would then have to re-charge for re-delivery, which is the responsibility of the sender and will be charged to your credit card. An Intercept fee of $12.00 is charged if it is necessary to intercept the package for delivery if we were given the wrong delivery information. And if the package is returned to us as being undeliverable there is another $11.00 charge. Understand these are fees which we are charged by the shippers involved. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

Express Shipping Options:

The rates below for UPS or USPS 1-2 Overnight Air, 2-3 Day Priority Air Express may not be entirely accurate and actually need to be doubled. At the present time UPS is updating rates as gas prices fluctuate  and shipping costs are also being calculated by dimensional weight as well.  Therefore, it may be necessary for us to evaluate your gift and send it by another means to get it there quickly as well as keeping the charges reasonable.  If you have questions please call and we can give you the estimate for express shipping. This does not apply to Priority Mail however.

Our shopping cart allows for Overnight  1-2 Air, 2-3 Day Priority Air Express USPS

USPS Overnight to 2 day Air is an additional $40.00 per gift.* Subject to additional dimensional weight charge.
USPS 2-3 Day Priority Air is an additional $22.00 per gift.* Subject to additional dimensional weight charge.

Tracking of all orders is available except APO/FPO.

PO Box, APO/FPO,and some US Territories:

You MUST choose Priority Mail for shipments to AK, HI, APO/FPO addresses and PO Boxes.
If your order was shipped to a PO Box, APO/FPO, or some US territories, your order will be delivered via the United States Postal Service and cannot be tracked.

Hospitals and Shipping:

Baskets By Design will not normally ship to hospitals since patients are discharged so quickly. But if you must send to the hospital please read the following information carefully as it may save you money and aggravation later.

1. How long will the basket take to get to the hospital?

2. Is it going to a central receiving point and when will they deliver to the child’s room?

3. Will they still be there, as many children go home earlier than thought, which is good for the child.

4. Are you sure you have all the shipping information 100% correct? We do not know the facility and some have many buildings and others do not. Please be sure, as it can either delay the gift or cause it to be returned.

Local Delivery:

Residential delivery fees vary according to location. We need the phone number of the recipient as we call before delivering so the basket is not left outside without the recipient's knowledge. In some cases they may out-of-town and we don't want their gift ruined.

Delivery fees for corporate orders are based on delivery locations versus baskets per facility. These will be discussed on ordering. Shipping multiple gift baskets to one location will not incur a rate for each gift but the total.  Fruit gifts are exempt as they are shipped from a different location.

Shipping Charges are non-refundable.  It is our responsibility to get the basket shipped as soon as possible. We CANNOT GUARANTEE any shipper ship times. We do our part and the rest is up to them.

For items that are returned there is a 15% normal restocking fee and item or item is to be returned in original condition and packaging.

This map is only an estimate. We have found that gift baskets may arrive sooner especially those on the "fringe" area of the particular zone. If you have questions call us: 800-360-0368 and we can go to the UPS site and give more exact information. During the Christmas Gift season however, there may be delays due to volume.
